Tryon Accommodations

Are the accommodations offered at the show the only options?

I have never been in the area… are there houses near by that you can rent? What about farms or is show stabling the only option?

Thanks!

There are a few hotels, but they are not right at the show grounds. There is a Holiday Inn in Forest City (about a 15 or 20 min ride), maybe a Days Inn in Columbus (friend did not like it), and some small inns and bed and breakfasts in Tryon, Columbus, Saluda, Forest City, Landrum. There are houses, cabins, etc you can rent- some reasonable and some not. There are also some farms you can rent. Again some are reasonable and some are not. I’ve rented a small house but never a farm. The accommodations on the grounds are too pricey for my pocketbook.

I stayed at the Butterfly Creek Inn (butterflycreekinntryon.com) and had a great experience. The lady who runs it is slightly crazy but in a harmless way and she runs a great inn! Comfortable beds, hot shower, clean, and close to the show. She knew I was coming to compete and stocked the fridge in the kitchen with carrots to take for my horse. I would definitely recommend it!

jumpermom… I actually can’t believe that they don’t have monthly or circuit pricing for accommodations. Everything is priced per night!

I was going under the understanding that there was nothing at all near the show grounds (within 40 minutes). Glad to hear there are other options.

check VRBO, airbnb, or tryonretreats.com/. we rented a home with our trainer and barnmates and had a great time!

I’ve stayed here in the past. It’s small, but not too far from the showgrounds and reasonably priced and clean.

we stayed at an AirBNB in Saluda for Pony Club championships. The house had 4 bedrooms and slept up to 10. We had 8 people and each paid about $125 for 4 or 5 nights.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Forest City. Not the greatest, but it works. I also wish there were better options nearby, but there aren’t yet. And the on-site is too pricey for us, too.
