Turtely Awesome! - Pics in post 4

I have an aquaponic system, where the bottom tank is 200 gallons with several goldfish, two turtles (Professor Chaos (southern river cooter) and General Disarray (baby map turtle), tow pleccos, and some snails. The water is pumped in to a 25 gallon top section with two waterfalls and that feeds the plants. I have a black stemmed elephant ear, some swamp plants, an eggplant (no fruit so far) and pothos just in the top tank hanging around.
I also have a Mr. Stacky planter that has broccoli and romaine in it. There is also a little strawberry plant. It’s fun to see which plants groove on the aquaponic system and which ones don’t like it.
Anyway, I really love my turtles. What charming little creatures they are!! I never knew reptiles could be so fun.

Which non-furry friends are you hanging around with? (I also have two dogs and a cat)

Pic Tax!!!
& :rofl:Love the turtle names!
It sounds like a really interesting setup, but undoubtedly too much work for me

My non-furries are:
3 chickens : rooster & 2 hens aging out of usefulness :unamused:
Newly supplemented by 4 chicks who should make me breakfast some time around Christmas.
The Bebes:

Oldsters:
(Barred Rock hen & Wyandotte have since gone clawsup :disappointed:)

3 goldfish in a 160gal stock tank in my back yard.
Replacements for the 3 goldtrout who did not survive winter when the floating de-icer died during a subzero spell :disappointed_relieved:
Those were nearing 5yo & at least 10" long.
Newbs were around 2" when I got them, maybe 5mos ago. Now around 4" & growing.

From top to bottom we have General Disarray, Professor Chaos, and a shot of the pond. The big plant on top is a black stemmed elephant ear. It really likes the system.

Wow. That looks so fun.

They’re named after South Park characters

Love the turtles!! They’re very cute. I wish I had more room here. I’d probably get a turtle or tortoise or two.

I have Marty McFly, who turned 1 on 8/29. I had no idea how much of a bond I’d feel for a lizard, but yep… he’s my scale puppy and even my mom loves him.

This is super neat! If you ever wanted to hide the totes, you could make a badass lightweight frame and put that faux brick/tile/stone stuff on it, that’s made of foam. Your turtles are living in turtle paradise!
