Twins have zero chance . . .

. . . to make it to the track. Maybe one might get to train, but certainly not both. We all know that, but here is an interesting article worth a read.

I remember a small gelding that raced at Emerald Downs a few years ago… he was a twin and had some moderate success. I cannot remember his name - that is going to drive me crazy until I come up with it!

Twin fillies/mares were always listed in catalog pages as it was believed they were superior stake producers.

There were twin Standardbreds racing in the Maritimes back in the 90s, cannot find the article now.

I thought the twin designation on a catalogue page was supposed to be a warning.

The twins at emerald were jillybell and young jack. They were siblings to stakes winner Sabertooth and trained by Jim Penney.

At the same time Barbara Ratcliff had one twin running at emerald, can’t remember if it was one for you or one for me, but she was a stakes horse and has gone on to be a producer.

While jillybell and young jack were both small, the Ratcliff fillies one was very small and the one that made it to the races was average sized.
