I will never get over the way that horse’s wither rises like the prow of a schooner when he sets off to win. The power and balance is unworldly.
However when I write the book it’s going to go: Laura to Margo: “Put in the FOURTH STUD!” Margo: “Not the fourth stud!” Nick: “Just do it!” (Ridland faints) Laura rips off her vest for aerodynamics. Nick (suddenly quailing:) “No, Laura!” Laura smokes it to the double and wins by half a second. “Aw, Fuchs,” goes the Swiss.

Lillie also won the style award:

That is certainly a very legitimate award for her to win. She has definitely stuck closer to her winning equitation style than most.

Speaking of which. Another previous pony rider topped the GP at Traverse City the other day. In fact, the ages of the top two or three finishers probably barely add up to one Margie. Lol.

I wish they had included more photos of Lillie jumping at Aachen for comparison. :slightly_smiling_face:

Getty Images has over 200 photos of Aachen 2025. If this link doesn’t work, I searched “ Aachen show jumping 2025” at gettyimages.com

Thanks for the link. I’ve seen many Aachen SJ photos, but more is better!

I was thinking it would have been nice if COTH might have included a few of them at the beginning of the “Throwback Thursday” article about Lillie’s equitation years.
