In a dress, bless her… https://www.facebook.com/AtTheRaces/videos/10155959132085379/
Watch until the end, for better understanding of what she did.
I’m impressed
Wow… most people would just get out of the way! That horse could have put her in the hospital! Not sure if it was bravery or stupidity!
She is an ex-jockey, so she is not “most-people”.
The dress, and being on live TV would have stopped “most people” from giving that stop a shot.
I think she was quite thoughtful about stopping the horse really, though yes, it was a risk.
Just watching her moves post catch were a clue as to her horse knowledge.
Horse was already slowing to avoid her + he was looking at her = perfect timing for her to grab bridle and hang on. She knew what she was doing and was confident in her read of the horse’s demeanor. But still…impressive split second decision to go for it.
Further comments say that the horse’s blinkers had slipped and it was running blind, so, remarkable job and glad she wasn’t injured.
Has anyone seen this stop of a loose running racehorse? 75 year old man doing it, no less!!!
I have to give the outrider’s horse credit, too. GOOD boy and, thankfully, fast enough!
Me too!!! That horse put the pedal to the metal to catch that filly and listened to his rider very well. Crazy ride! I wish I had that kind of strength and courage… and this guy was quoted as saying something low key like: “all in a day’s work!”
