Yep no baby yet, still dripping collustrum, was getting worried so had vets out this morning. Baby is still fine, mum has just gotten a bit carried away with the milk production, vets reckon theyâve had mares express milk up to 2 weeks before foalingðŸËÂŻ however they only produce collustrum for a limited time so have been collecting it and will try to get it into baby after baby is born.

At this point I would be sourcing some frozen tested colostrum, just to be safe :yes:

A few years ago I had a mare drip and stream colostrum for about a week before she delivered. The IgG on the foal showed she hadnât gotten enough colostrum so I had to have plasma given. I had sourced colostrum before delivery and decided not to lay in a supply of frozen. That was an expensive wrong decision.

She looks good despite momâs lack of care. I hope you can get some weight on the mare and she will produce enough milk. Does the mare eat well?

Sheâs got half of a ankle sock and thatâs itðŸËâ yes Uno is stuffing her face. Getting the vets out later today(they had an emergency on and these two are happy and eating so told them not to rush)
