Unstable...The T.V. show

I’ll admit…the show has me hooked and I’m just WAITING for the next episode HAHA. I, too, just enjoy anything that has horses on the tv for more than a few seconds…and JUMPERS at that!

And KateKat…I have to agree. I was actually quite suprised to see that the pro rider is really quite good. But if you check out their farm Web site, it lists all the people she’s trained with. They also have a you tube page where she’s riding quite a bit.

And getting the daughter a horse…wow, 10k? Why aren’t they looking at basic horses for her to ride…on the youtube vids she is riding a sale horse and is VERY novice, so isn’t really in need of a fancy horse. Besides, I thought in the one episode Tammy said she only had 5k to dedicate to her daughter…the other 5 was for the outdoor ring?

Anyway…I shamelessly admit, I enjoy this trash! The horses are nice

I’m quite fascinated… in a horrified way… Pretty much what sparky6 said, with the addition of 3) I may be your business partner, but no, you can’t have my money to finish the outdoor b/c my child MUST HAVE a $20k horse…

Nonetheless, no way am I not watching the rest of it! Trash TV only w/ horses in it: that rocks!

Megan tweeted to stay tuned for episodes 3 & 4 as they are “heartbreakers”… I’m guessing she leaves in one of these?[/QUOTE]

Sure hope so.

As a side note, I’m not sure she IS gone, judging by some of her tweets. Or maybe it’s just because they’re trying to keep up the pretense of her being gone until the show airs? has hope

lol if you notice they tweet and talk on face book as if the show is happening in the present even though the show episode at least was filmed at cornerstones in july…

OMG, I just finished watching the first two episodes online.

My husband, in the kitchen making dinner and overhearing the squealing and whining and incessant dramatic music following dramatic pauses, commented, “This is ‘The Hills’ with horses, isn’t it?”

I am addicted. I know it’s staged, but how horrendously awesome. I have to send the link to my barn owner, because she will die laughing.

Hmm… good point!

Wow…

I feel embarrassed for these people. I guess they don’t realise how catty they sound. Especially the comment about 'combing the horse’s hair"

You know what non-horse people are going to think when they watch this…Now I’m going to have to defend my sport even more.:sigh:

Does anyone have the link for theire youtube channel? I’d like to see what these people actually ride like myself…

I think she is a great rider! Training with some really impressive riders, Ian Millar, Jill Henselwood, Eric Lamaze… wow! On the wesite they have some really nice horses too!

Oh good grief, seems like we are being stalked by people tied to the show! 4 posts each & each one “touting how great they are as riders & what a great place it is”! I’m just   myself silly…

Holy cow. I saw this thread right before the forums went off line (and were subsequently massacred apparently…) but I just finished watching episode three. Allie was verbally attacking her ‘rival’ on the course walk and both of them were going at it after the class. Also, if that ‘potential’ boarder ends up actually boarding there she’s insane. They were SCREAMING at eachother right in front of her. This is without a doubt the biggest trainwreck I’ve seen!

The potential boarder is actually a friend of Allie’s (the “pro”), Allie was at her wedding… and yes, they are facebooking/tweeting as if the show is in real time, which I find quite strange when clearly it was filmed in spring/summer. They don’t even own the barn, they rent it.
At least (as far as I can tell anways) you don’t have Tammy (the “business manager” or some such thing) posting on here 24/7 like she was over on EMG!!

Can someone post a link to the fun on EMG?

Where is episode 3 on the web? I see 1,2, and 4 at cmt.ca.

Ugh, yeah, I popped over to EMG a few times over the past few weeks and Tammy is ALLLLL over that…

Very strange.

This thread is pretty tame, but before the show had even aired there were probably 5 or 6 threads that were hilarious, but unfortunately got deleted.

…Megan makes me nervous. Like, when she and Alex (?) go to check on the broodmare and just FLING the gate open…ummmm…very, very strange. And the scenes with everyone interacting are just so AWKWARD.

I suspect that everything we see is being reenacted… maybe these scenarios happened, maybe they didn’t, but the cameras and director are likely coming in after the fact and having these non-actors try to play out scenes. That’s why it’s so stilted and the timing always seems odd – case in point, the bizarre scene where Megan’s lungeing a horse and her boyfriend walks in. The whole sequence with the mare and foal also seemed so awkward… and none of it makes sense. Not the way to make good TV!

I think the show is fun, but it does seem fake. I mean the nonsense with the “rival” at the show. Who talks like that?? It’s probably a friend and they thought it would make good tv.
Allie comes across as a spoiled rich brat. Mommy and Daddy pay for everything still?? If you are really running a business and trying to make money you are not going to buy supplies at the show, they are like double the price! Also if you read Allie’s bio on the farm website, she is listed as a partner in Shadowgate (Jamie’s farm), so why start another farm?? And her comment about Megan “just combed the horses hair” was really snotty, she is just as bad at name dropping in her bio. Seems like she didn’t stay anywhere very long.
Megan looks like a loose cannon, she might have worked for good riders but so have a lot of people, it doesn’t mean anything. I mean if YOU are hired as the barn manager and you just move the horses into a new place, it is YOUR job to check all the stalls and fencing before putting horses in them. Not to say a nail might be missed but she made it sound like it was the others fault the fencing wasn’t checked. And why get upset at the hiring of another girl? 15 horses by yourself is a lot.
Tammy seems okay to me so far, but one minute she says it was her money she put in the farm and the next she is telling the others it was her boyfriends money. So which is it??

But I do like to watch
