Hi COTH
Has anyone here bred to Up To Date Miltoo (by Darco) or own/have worked with his offspring? What can you tell me about them? Temperament, conformation, gaits, scope, really any information would be helpful!
Thanks!

I’ve got a foal coming in 2019 (Up to Date Miltoo/Cardento), but I’ve seen probably over 20 youngsters on the ground. They are uniformly a good size, correct, with three very good gaits. Temperaments are also quite good. This is from a variety of mares. The older offspring clearly demonstrate scope as he is not only a 1.60m horse himself, but produces 1.60m horses. As a stallion owner (I have multiple jumper stallions), there has to be a very good reason for me to use an outside stallion and Miltoo is the first outside stallion I’ve used in many years.
@risingstarfarm , thank you for the insight! I knew of his competition record and that he has produced 1.60m horses, but there is surprisingly little in the way of first-hand anecdotes regarding his offspring floating around on the internet, for such a successful horse and sire! In your experience, are many of his offspring capable of being ammy-friendly rides? Or are they more the type of, must be ridden 6 days a week and more suited for a professional? Thanks again.
Hey! I have a filly by Up To Date Miltoo, that was born this past summer. She is by far my favorite foal I’ve ever handled or trained. She picks things up so quickly and is very mellow about everything. In regards to “ammy-friendly” I was actually recently thinking that she would be super easy to start for someone who is new to starting horses. I would think as she gets older she will still be “ammy-friendly”. Anyways, I highly recommend him!
”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹@risingstarfarm and @Katherine.al any updates on your Miltoo foals? Also, what type of mares did you both breed to him? Thanks for any info you can give. I am still interested/considering using him.
