Upcoming starter trials in Area II? Looking for ideas.

I’m compiling a list of starter trials in Area II (within ~4 hours of Central PA, PSU). I have the usual Fair Hill/Plantation/Loch Moy/Waredaca, also including Rolling Rock and Burgundy Hollow.

Any recommendations? Looking for nice safe venues that are affordable and good for green horses/riders. For me personally, I’m looking for one in July but can’t seem to find one. They’re all in June/August.

Is upstate NY too far for you? There are a few starter HTs in July over there.

DVCTA has an event derby at Carousel Park in June 18th. Dressage with stadium and xc combined. Fair Hill is July 2nd. Check Olde Hope and Bucks County for their dates. Flora Lea in NJ is June 26th.

ETA: Sorry, didn’t see you were looking specifically for July. I think Olde Hope will have a July date.

I can very strongly recommend “Jump!” at Sharon White’s Last Frontier Farm (far eastern corner of West Virginia) on July 4. It is a combined cross country and show jumping course, starting at the tiniest level. You can pay to go a second time (not for ribbons). You can go at two levels. If you get into trouble, there is a horse out on course ready to give you a lead.

Fair Hill is in July-- 7/2, I think. Full Moon is also in July-- I think it’s the 24th. It’s improved a lot in the last few years since they started running the recognized. There’s an MCTA Starter in Monkton MD on 6/26 which is fun and lowkey (I’m the secretary so I have to say that :)).

Thanks for all the input! There’s a Bucks County ST that’s around the perfect time–I added a bunch of others to the list for other riders at the barn too.
