-Update. Mongolian Humor tp run Sunday in Bayakoa at Los Alamitos

That’s right, nothing to be ashamed of, it was a tough crowd. And wasn’t it a photo for 4th?

I can’t find a replay. BloodHorse just has a big blank spot where it should be (on my computer anyway) and it’s not up on Paulick. :frowning:

Try that one.

Edit: Or maybe that one…

Thanks Sparrowette. I had to disable my ad blocker but I finally got to watch it.

That filly is a trier! I’d be proud of her if she was mine.

Yahoo!!! Great race OP!

Great race and Mongolian Humor did well. Paradise Woods was spot on today with her win.

I was hoping Mongolian Humor would carry some of the luck from Mongolian Groom’s upset win in the Awesome Again at 25-1.

Great race. You should be proud of your filly. And you do get a pretty saddle cloth as a memento. I assume, at least. The special ones for the stakes, don’t the owners get to keep those?

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the positive thoughts. I was proud of her. The top 3 were tough horses. I thought she would stop at the top of the stretch, but she ran on and kept trying. She ran within a head of LA Force who, while no match for the top distaff horses, is a really nice mare. She got back to the barn safely and I stuffed her full of treats. Will try a little easier company next out.

Congratulations, very nice race. How big is she? Isn’t Drosselmeyer a big boy? I bet you’ve been getting some pretty interesting offers for her as a broodmare.

Getting back to the barn safely to me is the big thing

I saw her work down the stretch and keep running! I love watching racehorses when they don’t give up regardless of where they are placed. You are right, some nice mares in front of her but she was nothing to sneeze at

Let us know when she’ll be racing again!

Might not have been going to beat the first two fillies but she sure hooked up with the other down the stretch. Gutsy. She didn’t just get lucky either, honest effort by all of those.

She doesn’t look that big either, how tall is she?

Understand you got her on a claim? Sometimes you get lucky, bet her former connections are regretting her in that claiming race.

Thank you. She is a good size filly though not huge. Between 16.1-16.2 with a big shoulder and solid bone but not heavy it that makes sense. Really nice disposition too. She acted up at the gate which she did not do in her last race. Maybe the other fillies gave her the hairy eyeball and she knew they were good.
Yes, we got her off of a claim 2 races back at Del Mar. Her connections put her in for a 20K tag against geldings which was an odd placement. My thought at the time was, if she can hold her own against 20K geldings, then should be worth at least the claim price if we run back with fillies. We ran her back in an AOC 40 at a shorter distance (not where we wanted to put her but nothing else came up at longer distance) and she won easily. Funny thing, her work out partner with her prior connections was Mongolian Groom.
Her jockey had been Abel Cedillo who took off he
r for the Zenyatta and went with Paradise Woods (no surprise there). Wish we had him for the race as she usually runs better from a little further off the pace.
Its always nice to have the COTH’ers to cheer us on!

Got it - well balanced. Can’t fault her at all, best of luck with her.

Second isn’t bad at all. Congratulations. She closed really well. You must be so proud of her.

What a nice run. She really is a trier!!

Well done! Second is great in the company you run against at Keeneland. We had a filly finish second there early in the meet and we were thrilled.
