OHh he is precious! And there are still hairs that will grow more in time. he will have an appy tail! LOL
That is one heck of a braid. should you want you can have a lifetime supply of horse hair bracelets made!
So happy he is doing so well!
Such a cute little stump! Canāt wait to see pictures of you guys on the cross country course with a color coordinated tail bow
That nubbin wag is awesome. Heās going to need some pink sparkly highlights or something in it when it grows out, to complete the look.
Glad heās recovering well
So glad to hear that Ollie is going to be okay. Like the others have said better to have no tail (or just a stub) than no horse.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it in the last few pages but there used to be a poster here with a docked Percheron stallion named Peanut. He had a gorgeous long tail that grew from his nub!
Pictures found!

I bet you could turn his left over hair into a crazy weave for shows. Unbeweaveable! Couldnāt resist.
Iām also fairly certain I have Ollieās twin. I have a gray draftx with the same dappled butt. My guy is sometimes completely incapable of moving his shoulders and he loves to fall in to the middle. Weāre really good at motorcycling at the canter⦠sometimes, I think my knee almost touches the ground. Heād probably be happy as barrel racer until he realized it requires going fast.

His rump is adorable!! glad he is feeling as awesome as he is!

the pic of you with his tail! sad and funny at the same time.
Looking forward to reading about his new style!
Hoping for a good Ollie update
Checked the blog & nothing there so now Iām worried
You might get 500 or more for his tail. (I cant see the pics) As another poster mentioned, gray is pretty desirable. A friend of mine got 1,000$ for her horses tail hair,so is finances are tight, seriously look at it. (Keeping some for your bracelet, of course)
That much for the tail?? Wow!! Given the surgical cost and the fact that the husband is unemployed at the moment⦠Maybe Iāll consider selling some of it. Where would I go about doing so?
Sorry no update-- work has been a bit nuts and the hubby is out of town. The Olls actually got his stitches out on Friday, and he couldnāt be healing better!! Had our first post-op ride yesterday, and he was good. But spooky on our group hack around the property- silly pony.
