Update on NEW SITE upgrade release date!

Hey crew!

The team was hoping to roll out the new site this weekend, but there were a few things on the main magazine site side of things they needed more time to work on.

Word on the street is that next Sunday, Feb. 12, will be the date we switch over to the new site.

I’ll keep you posted.

With any update, we know there will be issues and things requiring further tweaking, and we’ll work with users to address concerns and questions as they arise.

They have put months of work into this new site, so we hope you like!

Thanks ~

Whoo-hoo!!!

Thank you all for making this place even better!! Can’t wait to see the new site!

Whoo hoo, can’t wait to see the new site! Thank you to all who have been working on it.

Looking FWD to the new site. :encouragement:

Can I assume it will be free of the quirks left from the latest hack?
Problems with Edit/Reply W/Quote functions, etc?

Thank you to the whole team for working hard at giving us a new site!

I promise to pretend I like change once we start using it.

After all that work they are putting on it, I expect we won’t have to pretend, it ought to be wonderful.

Lets keep this bumped up, so those wondering can get the message and be prepared.

Well… even if it is perfect… change is not fun.

I have no doubt they have worked hard on it. It is going to be great. (It does not make change any easier.)

Is the new site mobile friendly?

Yup! All these issues we’re experiencing were the result of having to do an unplanned software upgrade (to address the security vulnerabilities exposed by the hacking episode) that wasn’t totally compatible with our site.

Though we may have some other issues that arise once we go live with the new site, the development team will be fully focused on making sure everything works in response to real-live use.

YES!

One of the coolest new little features is the ability to tag other users in a comment using “@username” – won’t that be cool to be able to draw someone’s attention to a comment or question directed to them in the middle of a long thread?

Just one more of the goodies headed our way!

Tagging is done on another forum I use and it is wonderful!

thx, mods!

It will be really nice to restore auto saved content again. That WILL work won’t it?

Mods et al… may the force be with you tomorrow and it goes well

It feels almost like Christmas Eve! Jingles for a smooth transition. And as the saying goes, “evolve, or die!”****

****Trubandloki, it’ll be ok, change is hard, but change can be good! Heck, we’d be stuck in winter (in the N hemisphere) if the seasons never changed. I’m looking ahead to spring already.

I’ll put in my jingles for a smooth transition tomorrow to the new site.

Will be nice to have all the functions working again and plus the new ones. Very exciting it’s finally going to happen.

Almost here, some more hours and we will see how things shape up then.

Fingers crossed that all works well right from the first click.
