Update: Still looking... What is everyone buying for dressage boots (for people) these days?

I highly recommend contacting www.thedistinguished rider.com . She represents several brands at a variety of price points. Many amateur and pro riders are now showing and schooling in her premier Kingsley line which is reasonably priced and extremely comfortable and customizable. She also has lower priced lines. She’s also a terrific person and fully stands behind the products.

Try Van Huett boots they sell Petries or Ooteman.nl they have a good selection too. I have the brown Petries pictured above with the front zipper, they were about $300

I am an xwide boot girlie. I bought a used pair of Treadstep Donatellos on one of the fb groups for $100 and put new zippers on them for $95. When those eventually fall apart, I’ll probably go with Kingsley. One of the boarders at my barn is a Kingsley rep so I’ll get with her when the time comes. I’m thinking probably the Aspen Special in black with plain everything else but the Jenny top with black patent.

I did however just see there’s an option for light blue leather which seems wildly impractical but oooooooh do I want it!

Anyway, they have a bajillion different customization options—similar to Celeris.

I kind of feel like it’s not worth going custom as I want a solid color boot and my measurements aren’t that hard to find in an off the shelf boot. I’m also just impatient and don’t think it’s worth waiting more than a month for custom boots. If I wanted an intricate design I would definitely go custom!

The brown Deniros are currently on sale at Smartpak for $539.40 (reduced from $899). These are the ones I have. Gorgeous color, and the most comfortable (yet stiff) boots I own. I’ve been wearing mine for about 5 years now.

Only 1 size available, though:

Omg, I love these boots. I also have them in brown. Waiting to find a good price for them in black to make my show outfit match better. (I wear a Hit Air vest over my jacket, so am pretty stuck with a black jacket.) Agree they are comfortable despite being stiff. Not sure how they do it, but it’s awesome!

Chiming in here as I’ve just received a pair of custom Deniros after about a 4 month wait. This time I added a Comfort Knee Cushion option. So far, I can highly recommend this option if the backs of your knees suffer when breaking in boots.

I live in Florida and ordered a pair of Romatelli’s at World Equestrian Center, in Ocala. I had to wait 10 weeks but they are perfect. They are semi-custom, so I got to chose exactly what I wanted and the fit is perfect. They cost me just under $900 and I absolutely love them. I want more, in different colors…but will have to be happy with what I got along with my Tredstep Palladio’s which I love but is discontinued.

Van Huet is always 10% off regular Petrie prices and now Petrie is offering another 15% off custom boots so it’s a great time to order. I have found Peter very responsive to any questions that I email to him also.

I have Celeris, they fit great. I went directly through them. I did their BOGO, have a pair for jumping and a dressage pair.

There was a BOGO? Hello?? Details? Photos?!

They run their BOGO quite often, check back in the fall. I do think you have to order spurs and spur straps as part of it though

I think it’s running all year - https://celerisuk.com/blogs/blog/bogohp

Do the math though - they require spur straps and boot bags for both if I recall correctly.

It’s always available, but only through Celeris directly. Buy one, the second or cheaper one is 50% off. You have to buy a boot bags and spur guards/straps to get the deal. I still found it reasonably priced.

It looks like they charge 795 pounds for the Bias, whereas Reitenleder is 675 Euros which has a better exchange rate as well.

2cm wider, and they’d be mine!

Boot makers seem to be of the idea if you have a small foot, your ankle/calf ratio is close to 1, and you can’t possibly have calf muscles.

Same for breeches. Tiny little calves and huge thighs and waist. I am not shaped like an egg. However, I do have riding thighs and runners calves.

Well, I haven’t found anything yet. I found some boots in my size (black, but I’m getting desperate) last week and bought them. Got an email this morning saying they don’t actually have them and would I prefer another pair of boots or a refund? Unfortunately they didn’t have anything else that would work for me. ):

At this point, can anyone recommend a retailer in the EU or maybe Canada that sells DeNiro, Konigs, or Cavallo for a decent price? Not really interested in any other brands. I also would like them to arrive in the next few weeks, so custom is probably off the table, especially with the manufacturers on summer holiday. I just bought a saddle, too, so there goes part of my budget.

I’ve found nothing at my local consignment shop and my nearest SmartPak and Dover have NOTHING in terms of actual dressage boots (and I’d be paying a premium for buying in the US), so I haven’t been able to try anything on.

Hypostore, Divoza, and Equizone have good prices and a huge selection of boots. I have ordered from the UK and Europe with no issues.

Bahr’s Saddlery in Ontario carries 2 of the 3 brands and Victoria Saddlery in BC carries 1 of the brands, but whether any are in your size or budget I don’t know (although the $Cdn is lower so you might get a good price after all).
