UPDATED with answer Artillery Ridge Campground at Gettysburg

The other post got me thinking about heading up to Gettysburg to ride/camp and I was looking at Artillery Ridge’s campsite. It says that you have to have liability insurance on your horse to camp or use their facilities? Would that just be your home owners insurance? I’m confused as I don’t think I know anyone who is not a business that has specific liability insurance on their horses?

So I got an email back from them and this was their reply
It would be the name of the insurance company you would use if your horse would kick or bite another person and they would need medical attention and brought you the bill whom would you turn it in to?

So for me that would be my homeowner’s insurance but what would someone do who just boarded their horses and didn’t have something like that? I just find this so weird- I’ve been all over this country and Europe with horses and have never been asked for this before. They also require your health insurance info. I also find it weird that they require all of this for their horse campers but nothing of the sort for any of their other campers

Call them and let us know what they say.

If you are a USEF member, you can get an equine liability policy through equisure for about $25 a year. Not sure what these cost if you are not a member.

I have camped there in the past, last time being 2010, and do not recall being asked about insurance. But, that may be something recent!

I emailed them to find out what exactly they are looking for. I will let y’all know when I get a response back
