Yes, although I find that people cook with processed ingredients and aren’t aware. Or unnecessary additives to whatever dish they’re making. In addition to that, GMO’s come into play with basic cooking ingredients.
At least our US Ikea meatballs are absent @SoCoPony’s Aunt Libby’s ground up remains.
May she RIP
I find it interesting the psychology or sociology behind which animals are acceptable to eat. I have no issue with people eating almost any animal raised and dispatched humanely.
I’ve never eaten horse, and I’m not a good meat eater in general.
Well thank goodness for that
Now back to my pasture grass.
To me, that description really does not cover too many situations that involve factory farming and the like.
Looks like a mix of valid and alarmist.
You’re absolutely right.
That’s another one of my “things” too is not knowing, caring, or otherwise being familiar with where your(g) good comes from. There are other factors such as affordability and accessibility that come into play though.
Looks like a mix of valid and alarmist.
Edit: I’ll be a bit kinder.
I can see how you’d arrive at that conclusion. I don’t feel that way, but my views may differ based on where/how I was raised and lived.
Let’s please reel the discussion back in to the main topic. Feel free to spinoff the food topic into OT.
So I’ve only heard rumors about a Wegmans. I have been in a Harris Teeter. We don’t have those or Piggly Wigglys here. Although I don’t think I’d go to a PW. The name reminds me of worms.
And I will eat any animal as long as it is raised and dispatched humanely. If it has a spinal cord and brain. I read somewhere that fish feel pain and fear as much as a mammal. I know when we raise cows or chickens they have personalities just like our dogs, cats and horses. So I would feel hypocritical if it wouldn’t be ok to eat them. I don’t and haven’t. But would. Goats and bunnies… Those are sometimes eaten and that seems socially acceptable. And also seems like they are pets. Mine are pets.
Oops sorry just got the memo. Hope MB gets to eat what ever he wants.
exactly! Too much work to shop there
I hope Michael and all his loving support system are enjoying his release!
I’d love to see a pic of MB’s first ride on a horse since getting out on the Go Fund Me update. It has to have been so hard to be disconnected from animals for all this time.

I can’t even imagine.
DOGS.
I love my horses, but some days my only interaction with them is dumping feed over the fence and a quick scratch. Okay, not being able to see them would be awful.
BUT, I interact with my dogs every hour of every day. I talk to them when I get up in the morning, let them out, let them in, feed their treats, everything. I listen to the old dog get up and down and get resettled every night.
The thing I miss most when I travel is my own dogs. Because other people’s dogs are good, but not the same as my own beloved dogs.
He’s lived for almost four years without daily interaction with dogs. The longest I have ever made it without my own dog is 3 months.
I want Michael to have a lot of outdoor time. And cat time, though I have no idea if he’s a cat person. But barns have cats, it’s a law. Horse time, of course.
But I can’t imagine holding on for 4 years without dogs.
It’s like a holiday experience when you’re there: Broadway show, Grand Canyon, Golden Gate Bridge, suburban supermarket.
Oh, and Target. A supermarket and Target are must dos.
If you get to go to a Wegman’s? That’s a 5-star holiday upgrade package!!
Hey!
