Upright Go Posture Trainer

Does anyone have the Upright Go Posture Trainer?

I am considering buying it to help with my posture in the saddle when I ride on my own. I tend to perch and collapse a bit to the inside. I can’t always feel when I do this so a little extra help would be great. I’m pretty sure it will help with my perching but I am unsure if it will alert with the inside collapse at the rib cage.

Does this work? Better than the cheaper braces that you wear? My Mother always ragged me about my posture and she was…right! Now I am bent over a computer at work for hours and still slouching.

I do not know if this could help you. Due to my MS I have various posture faults, a lot from weak muscles, that my riding teacher had given up on–she said she just figured, after years of watching me trying to correct my faults, that it might be a result of my personal conformation.

UNTIL I got the Equicube. The first time I carried it she called all the people who teach riding at her stable to come and see how much my posture improved when I carried the Equicube, and she likes how my posture STAYS improved throughout the rest of my ride.

I can use the Equicube when I ride on my own and it still works its wonders. Some of the best money I’ve spent on something to improve my posture in the saddle and my riding.

I have one. It’s sensitive to movement and I’m not really sure you’d get a lot out of it while actually riding. However it has been really helpful to train my posture OUT of the saddle to make it easier to hold my posture in the saddle!

I read this as “Upright Go PASTURE Trainer” and was wondering if it was the pasture being trained or training in the pasture…

Just stick a crop in the front of your pants. If you haunch forward, you’ll smack yourself in the face with the crop.

I got one of these for Xmas for the same reason. I tilt forward from my hips both in the saddle and in ever day life sitting down. haven’t used it riding yet as I managed to fracture my vertebrae days after Xmas … But wearing it around home it’s very sensitive and is pretty comfy to wear .

How interesting! I hope some more users chime in.

I would be worried I’d sweat the adhesive off while riding… I mean, maybe not this time of year, but definitely in warmer temps.

Also, are the vibrations noticeable while riding? I don’t always notice my phone or FitBit vibrating while I ride, especially if I’m focused.

Thank you everyone for the response. Here is the response I got from the company:

“Hi Dawn and thank you for reaching out to us. We advise training your posture using the GO device comfortably, and not when doing sports activities/ sweating in order for the device to vibrate according to your actual needs. It is a posture trainer for forward slouching, and please let us know if you have further questions at hello@uprightpose.com or via the in-app chat. Kind regards, Upright team”

My suggestion is to go with correction rather than a reminder or brace. When I started riding, I was totally rolled over from big boobs as a teen and desk work as an adult. I started doing Pilates and found that my entire thoracic spine and shoulder muscles were nearly frozen. After a year, I obtained good posture and flexibility.
