the website is updated and I think I’ve got all the sires and dams listed correctly. Still not done but the basics are up.

Cherry Cola and her 2 fillies look great! Thanks again for the updated website.

One should be listed as a colt. One bay filly and one bay colt.

SusanO, I don’t the details but i can try to find out. The Alexanders had an interest in Frankly Perfect who was in California back in the day. Look up his race record, it is very impressive. He stood at stud in California. I am fairly certain they bred and owned The Rufus and he may or may not have been turned out with the mares but i kind of doubt it. or they could have bought him in CA. They would not have put two mature stallions out in the same place at the some time with a herd of mares. I will try to find out if it matters to people. I am pretty sure Whotoldyouthat was turned out with them for at least three years and maybe longer. I am still piecing the story together myself.

For what is worth I have the necessary paperwork here on my desk from the jockey Club to register the three yearlings. The fee is $550 before December 31. After that it goes up to 800$. i am going to register the filly and if anyone wants to do one of the chestnut boys, let me know right away and send money. It requires photos and mane hair to get done and that will require a trip through the chutes. They don’t have to be named now but if you pay the fee you get to name them and of course will ave first right of refusal to buy them. It takes a while to fill out the paperwork and pull the mane hair and write the descriptions so don’t wait until the last minute. Have a great Christmas.

Paypal addy is my email. Feel free to ask questions. I know the question on some people’s mind is what will they cost. The answer is that i don’t know yet, and until we see how they get through the quarantine period, and some minimum training timewise, I won’t know for sure. The base number before expenses are added on is $825 each that I paid for them to the rescue. That was price plus 3% for using the credit card. Doesn’t include the interest on the credit card. or any of the expenses since. Thanks for all your help and support. EponaCL

Well done, thank you for that.

2 Transworld mares rescued by Medicine Horse Program

Hi,
Sorry I’m late with this, but I had ankle surgery and the two fillies we got at the auction were quarantined for two weeks, just got out yesterday. I want to support Epona in finding homes for the horses she saved, so I’m going to post photos of our mares to show the movement. They are closely related to the horses Epona has (brothers, sisters, mother), the same quality, and heavily stamped by Transworld. The horses are in pretty good shape, have lovely minds, and are sound. Nightmare Doll and the Whotoldyouthat filly are 3 and 1, respectively. Both are Transworld granddaughters. They are not for sale or adoption yet, as we will rehab them and train them at Medicine Horse. The yearling will go into our HopeFoal program and the mare will start ground work. I spent the money to upgrade my status so I could post pictures specifically to help Epona’s horses out. A picture says a thousand words. It’s the least I can do. Click on the thumbnails for a better view. Happy Holidays! Kathy

Oh my this whole story, this thread, gets even better!

I had an exceptional horse once, an OTTB that had some hard times, he blossomed here with us. I had an animal communicator tell me once that some horses are willing to go, be sold, others not. He was sold, to a young teen, who found him. She had lost her father in a tragic accident and her father was the one who did the horses with her. She shut down after the loss. She was here visiting in town at her grandmother’s and she found his ad on Dreamhorse and told her mother that she needed to come see him. They instantly knew each other. When the shipper came to pick him up he jumped on that trailer, off on his life adventure, going to be a healer for her. So how well I know the power of the bonds. And what a program like this can do - for both humans and the horses.

Great news, esp today of all days. Thank you Kathy for picking up 2 of these youngsters. Thank you for letting us know they are in a good place and in good hands. And especially for helping ML with her undertaking with this herd of fine TBs. Bless all of you!

Thanks Kathy for this contribution to the cause. It will really help people to see how lovely they are and how well they move. I have a yearling full brother to the mare and the mother of the filly, Whatifyouwereme, probably in foal to her sire. I hope you are feeling better and I am wishing everyone a wonderful New year. Can I post those pictures on the coloradotb.com website as well?

Certainly you can use the photos, as long as Tony’s copyright stays at the bottom and people know these two are not for sale or adoption. It’s better to take them off the FB page, as they are bigger. I’m pretty much one legged lame right and Tony calls me Tripod (because of the crutches), but I had a great Christmas with the boys and my spirits are pretty good. When I’m more mobile, maybe we can come out get some pictures of your herd for you. Happy Holidays!

I added another page to the website, however you may have to click “home” in order for the link to come up. I do not know why it’s doing this… but I’ll be working to fix it.

I truly wish I could afford one of the yearlings, but right now I’m at my limit with my little OTTB mare.

However, I can spare a dribble if someone wants to PM me with Epona’s paypal email addy.

PM sent. Thanks for helping.

While we allow placement of horses being rehomed by private parties through our Giveaways forum, we don’t allow fundraising efforts for initial purchase of, subsequent expenses for or rehoming costs of animals unless it’s via a 501c3 organization.

We appreciate that they are not the only ones doing good work, but it’s the only clearly defined method we’ve found to appropriately limit the site for this use.

Since this thread has been ongoing for a while before we became aware of it, we’ll leave it up and just close it to further posts. If an involved party would like to take the discussion elsewhere, we’ll be happy to add a link to this post so others know where to go to follow it.

Thanks,
