If PD is speaking out, that’s concerning.
Yeah, not to dredge up the wild speculation, but it’s so strange that a not-wildly-unpopular-or-incompetent leader was kicked to the curb during a very difficult time and there was apparently no successor being groomed in the wings. I mean, part of good leadership IS knowing how to have a smooth transition. Like the USEF/USEA doesn’t have enough issues without manufacturing a crisis?
It is NOT the USEA at fault here, it’s the USEF.
When BE get things wrong the membership gets upset, there are special meetings, officers resign, new brooms are appointed, communications are issued. When USEF/USEA get things very wrong the membership … [Yawn]… roll over and go back to sleep. I’m fascinated that nothing ever seems to change in the USEF/USEA.
Someone suggested PD should go back to riding for Australia LOL I wonder how much support they get?
You had piqued my curiosity, I thought maybe his post ruffled feathers and an angry American commented something like “if you don’t like it move back to Australia.”
But the comment was from an Australian eventer which has quelled my outrage lol
hahahha yeah it was a funny comment not a critical one, I guess I should have elaborated on that. I thought it was funny but then also wondered, do the Aussies have it better? I know their governing body is a bit of a mess.
Who is the Amber Braun they have now as director? Would make sense to get someone who is well versed in upper level Eventing.
HAH!! “Bit of a mess” is when you drop your beer on the floor.
“Fkn sh** show” is the polite term for how badly run our Equestrian Australia is.
Corrupt, unethical, and uncontrolled. Look at the Rowan debacle for Toyko 2020 2021. We had to have administrators appointed a few years back because it was such a mess… even that turned into an absolute dog n pony show.
I wouldn’t give EA a red cent if my pants were on fire.
It seems as if they’re looking to hire someone temporarily. With a contract ending in September of this year.

Wow. Who would want that job for 4 months? Seems like it would be pretty thankless.
I feel for the riders who want to aim for the team heading to WEG. Not a great feeling of support currently.
i think this part is interesting:
“Assist with developing and implementing a Comms & PR plan around the World
Championships and ensuring athletes project a positive image.”
Sounds like somebody’s mad Philip spoke up…
Color me unimpressed by the response . . . seems like more of the same fluff talk. However, the one noteworthy item in there is that Will Connell says they intend to have someone in the interim role before Kentucky. Makes me wonder if they had someone in mind when they drew up the position, or knew of someone in particular who would be willing to do it on the short term basis.
If they had an interim in mind when they drew it up, surely they would have named that person to the role at the same time they announced Erik and Jenni were leaving and formed the committee to work on a permanent hire?
Who even knows anymore? The incompetence is impressive.
Interesting a British Publication reports on it but nothing from the US
I said that to my husband last night.
Curious for sure.
Em
No American team confirmed for the Eventing Test Event in May at Pratoni, venue for the World Championship in September.
Philip being accidentally honest on the internet is one of my favorite generational accidents in equestrian life.
