I note that the horse with one of my favorite TB names is in that pedigree: Stage Door Johnny (Prince John x Peroxide Blonde). Always thought that was a very clever name, i.e., “Prince and the Show Girl” reference. My recollection is Stage Door Johnny was a chestnut with lots of bling. Maybe that’s where it comes from.

there is also Walk the Moon, on the paralympic Olympic dressage team. He’s an 11-yr-old thoroughbred gelding owned by David O’Connor, ridden by Keith Newerla. They will represent the United States and compete in Hong Kong, September 7-11.

Is that his racing or his equestrian name? What’s his pedigree?

I’m curious to know why the above-mentioned TBs appear as breed “not listed” in the official order of go. Is it because the FEI doesn’t recognize the Jockey Club as an official breed registry…

Perhaps this could be forwarded to the two colour commentators on the Cdn channel.Cara Whitham and Nancy Whetmore - the only time I heard the word Thoroughbred was when Courageous Comet was in the ring.
At one point my poor husband said, “they can’t hear you honey”

Courageous Comet has always been one of my favourites - it brings tears to my eyes just watching him.
