US Rider alternatives - Trailguard?

I’ve had US Rider for about five years now. Last year was the first time I actually used their service and my experience was not good.

My contract is up in June, so I’m looking for alternatives. I saw a few mentions of Trailguard. They are definitely pricier than US Rider, but I would be willing to pay a higher premium if the service is reliable.

Has anyone used them recently? Or are there other alternatives I haven’t found?

Thanks!

I’m also interested if there are good alternatives. I’ve paid for US Rider for years and used them for the first time this January. We had to wait over 2 hours in -10 weather for a tow truck.

Only reason we weren’t in serious trouble was because a random stranger stopped to help

Yup. I waited over four hours and had two alleged dispatches “cancelled” after the scheduled arrival time. Then I had to pay ~ $400 because they brought someone from outside the service area who finally showed up and took my trailer to the shop.

Thank goodness it happened right before I got to my event and a kind friend had an empty trailer spot to take my mare home.

I had a two horse bumper pull last year and upgraded to a gooseneck this year. I’m concerned what service will be like with the larger trailer if they had that much trouble getting me a tow truck for a small trailer. This is in a fairly well populated, reasonably horsey area.

Seriously?!? How can they even pass that cost on to you in good conscience?

I just renewed mine this month, and maybe my memory is foggy, but the premium seemed higher than I remember. I have never needed their services, thankfully. But the more stories I hear like this, I’m wondering if it’s even worth the peace of mind…

I’ve used them quite a bit over the years and never had a problem.
