US Sitting Pretty on FEI World Ranking List

Have you guys seen this?

American riders looking good with 3 in the top 10 and 5 in the top 15!

Anyone know how these rankings are calculated?

Is it cumulative? Average across events? Top 10 results?

If it is cumulative then someone that runs a lot of horses is going to be ranked high on sheer volume alone.

It’s kind of a tricky system that doesn’t necessarily reflect a rider’s overall season. It is best 6 scores and a complicated point system. For example, Liz Halliday-Sharp is 28th but she’s almost beat the record set by Piggy March for most FEI wins in a year. Whereas Lauren has one FEI win and overall higher finishing scores. But regardless of the weird way they do the points, it’s great to see some Americans in the top!

I think they also saw how few are competing in the MD5* and are looking at the prize money with a gleam in their eyes lol.
