I stumbled upon the USEA Medal Program just now…not only did I not now it has a bronze, silver and gold award for each level. But the darn program is CURRENTLY ACTIVE! Wouldn’t it be great if USEA showcased horse and rider combos who earn their medal? usdf emphasizes their medal program, why can’t usea?
I think it’s a very underrated program compared to dressage. My son earned all three at training level back in 2021.
Editing to add I submitted his gold medal score info and they sent him all three.
It has been around for many years.
At one point the USEA was very actively promoting it. But for some reason it never got the interest that the USDF version did.
Huh, I had no idea this was a thing but I just applied for three medals, thanks! Gold for Training, Silver for Novice, and Bronze for Modified.
I think it’s nice to have a program that relies on scores rather than placings, unlike USEA championship qualifications and points. (As opposed to qualifications for USDF regionals, which go by scores like USDF medals.) This way riders can work towards a tangible goal regardless of who happens to be in their division.
A friend of mine told me about this program in 2018, before that I had no idea it existed. I actually have set a goal for myself for my event next weekend to get my last qualifying score needed to get the gold medal at novice
