USEF insurance

Do you have the USEF insurance for $18 a year?

I have a farm although I currently don’t board horses we may in the future, as well as host clinics and I am interested in supplemental insurance beyond my regular farm policy that might cover me in the event of injury of myself or others on my property. I’ve looked at a few options but USEF was suggested as an option.

Is the USEF insurance any good? What does it cover?

Following

Yes - I’ve had it for years. A friend of mine researched it and apparently it is an excellent additional coverage.

From the Insurance Certificate provided by USEF:

The Master Policy is to cover your EXCESS PERSONAL LIABILITY in respect of all sums which you may become legally liable to pay as compensation for accidental bodily injury to any person or accidental damage to property or personal injury to any person arising out of the use and/or ownership of a horse or horse drawn vehicle […] no coverage is provided for liability arising out of your business or profession or the use of a horse-drawn vehicle for any commercial purpose

It’s not going to help you if you are taking boarders - that’s a business.

The policy also excludes all medical expenses, but does cover accidental death and permanent disablement. Maybe the coverage used to be better, but that’s what it is for participating/fan membership as of 2019.
