If a rider is 17 on 12/1/2020 but 18 on 1/1/2021, how old are they for this year of showing? Is this their last junior year or is 2022 according to current rules. I am not a USEF member and a friend’s daughter has raised a nice going large hunter piny that they think they would like to get qualified for pony finals.
The age on December 1st is the age for the upcoming competition year. So the rider who is 17 on 12/1/20 is starting his/her last junior year.
Yep, this show year (2021) will be her last shot at pony finals. She’ll be an adult next year (2022 show year).
