USEF Suspensions

I used to be able to find the list of current suspensions on the USEF site. I have looked in the Equestrian magazine but did not see the name I am looking for. I know the suspension is recent. Can anyone point me towards the page that has the set down details? Thank you!

Have you tried searching for the person’s name on the search page on the USEF site? I think it would probably show up with at least a date for the suspension, if not the reason for it.

That should let you check the Ineligible list, but it just has the name and a general reason (ie rule violation/drug violation/safe sport) but no specifics of the case.

Is that Kareem Abdul Jabbar the basketball player on the list?!? Or am I thinking of the wrong name?

Thanks for the suggestions. I used to able to pull up the person’s name, infraction, and penalty and it was all under a tab on the main page. I think it was titled “hearings and suspensions”
The page looked like the pages in the Equestrian magazine with all the latest infractions.

On the drop down menu go to “Rules, Regulations and Grievances” > “Rulings and Findings”

I was like, “can we come back to this question, please?”

He apparently has (or had at one point, at least) horses but it doesn’t sounds like in the competitive sense?

And he wrote a little piece about “Saving the Thoroughbred” on his website?

This Google interlude brought to you by the laundry I was supposed to be doing.

From a quick search on Safe Sport’s website, it looks like it’s a mutual suspension with Taekwando?

I had no idea he had anything to do with horses in the first place.

Does he have family members who show? So maybe he might be listed as the owner of the horses?

I believe he has written some very thoughtful Op-Ed pieces in the Washington Post over the years. Probably in other places as well.

Thank you! I did that but it looks like they may have changed how they post infractions. And it is a recent change……or maybe it is my old IPad?

It’s not the basketball player who is banned, but apparently a Taekwando athlete/instructor with the same exact name. I was so confused about this so did some googling…

45? So I imagine he was named for THE Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?

Way to disgrace the name. sigh

I have to say that makes more sense than to think that the 7’2” basketball player had been hanging around the horse shows at some point and nobody had ever noticed him.

I mean, even Springsteen can put on a hat and sunglasses and blend in a little bit. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, not so much.

In a very random coincidence, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (the basketball player) turned up as himself in the new Christmas episode of Night Court this week.

That was unexpected.

they are remaking Night Court?!!?!

Can lightning strike twice?

I would say lightning would be an overstatement. More like some leftover warmth if you enjoyed the original.

They have John Larroquette back to play the same character after all these years. That might not be a record for the longest gap between appearances, but it must be a contender. I would think.
