Using a quarter sheet with a western saddle

Does anyone use one with their western saddle? Or are they designed only for English saddles? Any input much appreciated!

There are different styles of quarter sheets / how they attach and I think a western saddle would be too big and bulky for some of them where the sheet goes over the saddle with a hole. But you could use one of the smaller sheets that only go behind the saddle, like this: https://www.ridingwarehouse.com/Horze_Kingsley_Quarter_Exercise_Sheet_Riding_Blanket/descpage-HKIN.html
Or one that goes under the saddle, like this: https://www.ridingwarehouse.com/WeatherBeeta_Fleece_Exercise_Quarter_Sheet/descpage-WFEX.html
(I don’t have either of the sheets I linked, I just used them as examples. I have a wool one that I love, but it wouldn’t work with a western saddle)

Thanks, Training Cupid. Those look like they might work. Trying to figure out how I might fasten one of them at the front so they don’t slide back. You’re right. The over-the-saddle type wouldn’t work at all.

I think there are rump rugs or rump warmers that endurance riders use that can be tied to the back of a western saddle.

I had a Rambo Comp Quarter sheet. I used to ride in it and my barrel saddle all the time. I either used it underneath the saddle completely, or put it on top, around the back of the saddle, got on and stuck the velcro closure together over my legs. I’ll include pictures

SonnysMom, I googles rump rug and up came an online store called “action rider tack”. They show a rump rug made for an endurance saddle. It’s basically a rectangle that just ties to the saddle rings and also rolls up when not needed. I may ask our Mennonite harness and blanket store if they could whip something up. Thanks! WildGooseChase, that Rambo also seems to work fine and looks to stay in place quite well without ties? Does it slide back at all when riding? It definitely covers well.
