using alters

@Moderator 1 . I understand that it is ok to use an alter for specific reasons, like if you want to discuss something you are not comfortable with.

But what about using it all the time, either to support yourself or maybe to escape into the alter if you think your own nick might be not credible right now.
I got a pm the other day and I suspect somebody created this nick only to write me a pm. I yes I think the purpose was malicious…

So I guess as long as you are not banned its ok to use different alters for posting?? Thank youI

We generally don’t mind users having alters for benign reasons…posting about a delicate situation, Christmas elfing, etc.

We don’t want them used to hide identities in order to advertise, post in support of yourself on a thread or other nefarious purposes.

As Bluey said, if you think a PM is inappropriate, you can forward it to us for review, regardless of the username.
