…and I still own Chelsea Small Talk. She is 20 this year and we’re breeding her one last time praying for a filly; her 2012 colt is fabulous…but is a colt and has the wrong plumbing. I forgot Square One was out of Chelsea. She sure has produced some of the best.

Hi. I owned Square One. I rode with Mike Rowe for many years (I also owned Wap’s It To 'Ya - a/k/a Jeffrey).
I bought Square One (“Nikki”) right after she was born and took her to Upperville where she won the foal class. I spent the next three years bringing her up. We broke her at about 2 — she was HUGE with a BIG jump like her daddy Teddy (Tafalgar Square). She was topping 17’ as a 3 yo and she was very powerful and a beautiful liver chestnut.
Unfortunately, I run into some hard times (divorce) and ended up having to sell her. I sold her to a man from NY who had big prospects for her. Unfortunately I can’t remember his name. But, Mike may be able to. Mike is still in VA (near Jeffersonton) – just caught up with him last week actually. Knowing Mike he won’t mind me passing along his number: 540.718.3271. If you know Mike, he would love to share stories.
Hope this helps a little – Mike will definately know more.

Hey!!! Do you have any pics of Nikki? I LOVED that filly. I wanted to trade my guy for her when she was first born but I wasn’t ready for a foal back then. I also remember Jeffery very well. I rode for Mike and my horse Ben stayed there for a while. Does Mike have email. I love that crazy man!
I know know if you will remember my boy that was there…
Red Dun, 4 white socks, long star and a snip. Very stocky built and we did the jumpers. We were in the lower barn for a while but then Ben got an abscess and was put in the upper barn. We left after being up there a while
Hi, does anyone know if Mike Rowe is still in Jeffersonton, VA?
megmei, Mike passed away about two years ago. If you have a specific question you could try Gail Forrest on Facebook; she worked with Mike and is in touch with his daughters.
I was crushed when I found this out on FB a while back.
RIP Mike Rowe You were a good trainer and personality
