Vacation Destination Needs a Tack Shop

Mr LS and I are planning on a vacation this year between October and December. I’m very keen to visit a tack store that carries a decent selection of helmets that I can try on as we don’t have much selection locally and ordering and returning a bunch of helmets sounds demoralizing at best.

We’ve discussed going to Ocala area or the Keys (with a side trip to Wellington) in December or Aiken in October. Those spots are all well and good and I’m leaning towards returning to Ocala but thought I’d ask for other options!

Mr LS and I are easily amused so we don’t have any specific entertainment needs.

Wellington has Tackeria, Tack & Rider, and Dover within a few miles of each other so if you can’t find a helmet here it can’t be found anywhere!

Hehe!

Vacation wise I personally prefer central FL but I’ve been to Wellington and I know the helmet shopping would be primo! I’ve only been “after the holidays” so before Christmas might be interesting

Mr LS is a good sport allowing me to dictate vacation based on helmet shopping.

Simple. Fly into Orlando, hit Ocala up for a few days do some shopping and then drive down to Wellie and fly out of S. Fl. Its a half days drive from the two and you can enjoy sightseeing along the way.

Take surface roads and avoid the interstates.

Drive down the west coast hit Tarpon Spring, get some greek food and spongs, then either keep going south or pop on to i75 to get across the state and go meader through the Everglades before hitting Wellie.

That’s an idea to do both locations!
