Holy cow! I just posted what I thought was a new thread onto this one by mistake! I’m sorry, Daventry. I just forgot where I was!!!
What I wanted to post here was how great it is to see the marketing and reaching out efforts in this biz (exactly the opposite of the thread I was trying to post elsewhere).
I have been thoroughly enjoying shopping around for great deals this year and have passed along a lot of information about them to others.
Another query: Pony stallions who move from the shoulder.
I acknowledge that there are good movers of both types, even in hunters: stallions who move, say, 100% from the shoulder (resulting in virtually no knee action at all–and all the attendant topline carriage that is necessary to do that without stumbling constantly) and stallions who move FREELY from the shoulder, but also have some bend at the knee.
Now, I don’t know if I can communicate this, but that is why I am asking–to clarify. For one of my mares, I’m specifically looking for a stallion who moves 100% from the shoulder, no bend in the knee. TO ME, that’s a picture that looks both low to the ground (the entire body) AND high in the withers (but not too high in the neck). And I’m looking for this in the EXTREME, OK?

Here’s Blue Rain, reachier and loftier, but not dissimilar in KNEE (vastly superior in carriage)…but, BUT wait! Look at the video around 0:53, please. It’s a clip of him being led over a jump. I’m trying to get a real handle on this movement. IMO, it is rare and I don’t know how often it is passed along, the “100% shoulder” 10 trot.
Again, I want to indicate that there are 10 trots that are NOT of this type! But I am hoping to find videos of ones that ARE, OK? I’ve love your help.
And stallions or not. Just depictions of the 100% shoulder trot (even ones that lack reach and so are NOT 10 trots–I want to see as many examples of the mechanics of that form as possible). Thanks.
