Can anyone tell me what the horse marks are for in vaulting? I’ve never watched vaulting before, but it seems that there are three judges giving marks for the horse and three judges giving marks for the exercise.
These horses all look amazingly steady and consistent to me…and I’m not surprised, given their job…so what are the horse marks for?
LOL…its a very contraversial system…but great to see itr being used…
Basically , the canter must be a working canter…engaged…with the horse “on the bit” throughout!.and of course…UPHILL…
there is a mark for
regularity, suppleness,contact, impulsion,straightness, submission… each marked from 10 being the best.
a constant 4 beat canter could for example…NEVER score more thn 3 points,the longeur also is included in this mark and the overall impression in the TEAM vaulting
I really think that USA vaulting team are in with a chance this year!..Devon has done an extraordinary job with them!
