Very premature foal

They wanted her to post the radiographs publicly to help the general audience better understand the decision the vets were making so I am guessing not.

If you know anything at all about horses, you do not need to see radiographs. Just looking at the horse should give you all the insight that you need. Of course, she is not going to post this and piss off her followers.

I’m sad that he’s gone this far, but happy she’s being practical about his future. In her situation, with her money and the information she was given, I’m not sure if I would have done differently. You always hope the next “thing” will fix it.

I’ll definitely shed a few tears when the time comes but happy he had the chance to live a sort of normal horse life for a while.

I was glad to see that she is finally more serious in setting up his future, or just the inevitable outcome. Unfortunately a lot of her followers are delusional and will lose their ever lovin’ minds when the time comes.
Here’s an example some of their comments and thoughts.

How can someone who claims to be a horsey girl ask this question?
He is a freaking yearling (ignoring all of his other issues).

I also want to say, this is her (the owner’s) fault.

She has lead these followers down this path about this horse. She has encouraged them and their cluelessness.

Absolutely!
Clueless = Clicks = $$$

@scierra those comments show the depth of ignorance from her fanbase.
I say shame on her (or whoever manages her SM)for not answering with at least a tinge of The Reality thrown in.
There is a nice way to say "Asshat ‘horsey girl’, he’s too young to be ridden
& the petting zoo meet up? {shudder}

In this case, I’m pretty sure “horsey girl” translates into: “I own 257 Breyers, my favorite book is ‘The Horse Whisperer,’ and I write fan letters to racehorses.”

On the other hand, I once had someone who did own horses argue with me about the fact that horses naturally carry more weight on the forehand. So ownership does not equal knowledge.

She’s actually talking about putting him down? The gravy train must be drying up. Or, she has a new deformed/problem overshadowing Seven and bringing in the clicks. It’s all about the clicks, donchaknow.

Yes she is, which is covered in the video. She’s said for quite a while he’s here for a good time, not a long time. (Though I don’t think he’s really having a good time.) The clueless wonders out there, just don’t seem to understand what that means.

Oof. That one comment. Sort of like, “Well, maybe you don’t want to be bothered with him anymore, but someone else might enjoy having him around.”

The meet 'n great petting zoo idea is bonkers. That’d be a circus, where they’d want to lay their hands upon Seven and, of course, take selfies with him. It’s ghoulish.

But this is what she created in exchange for clicks and notoriety. She’s grown a cult of Seven worshippers who think they are entitled to a moment with him and input in deciding his ultimate fate.

Neither do I. I listened to most of the video. He’s on daily NSAIDS (I would guess not an insignificant amount), just had OCD chips removed and he’s had his joints (plural) injected with steroids. The poor thing.

So this is the type of some of the nutjobs following her, hence her latest video, but they just don’t get it or remember he’s gelded, even if they know what it means!

Jesus Christ on a cracker.

Doesn’t that show their level of cluelessness …

Well, then there’s this after Katie went through explaining the scale out of 10 that 7 wasn’t good:

My previous comment, x2. She dug this grave for herself.

I imagine she’s sorry she didn’t let him go day 1 or will be after she does. So much stupid…or maybe she should send him to live with the 3 legged colt?

ETA at least if nothing else, Seven’s life has shown why to not try to save extreme premies in horses.

That’s exactly where my mind went. People like Rocking R and Katie make people believe that these horses are A-ok, living a happy jolly life.

The truth could not be further from that.

But it’s easy to make a charade when all you have to show are short video clips.

While I think there was some SM influence in keeping the baby alive, I also think she was sucked into “one more thing”. I, and I think most of us, would have euthanized when the vet said he couldn’t be allowed to stand for months. But once she started down that road, “improvements” like being able to stand kept her trying the next thing. Yes, I think she considered the clicks, but I also think she thought he could have some pain free time. I wonder if the vets were enabling or if this was her not facing facts right away.

I have seen well-meaning owners put horses through months of pain trying to resolve a painful problem that most reasonable people would know will never be fixed (and a vet that enabled that)

I mostly blame the owner for not making the call early on when it was apparent it was a long, difficult road in the best case scenario. Later on, I can see how it came to be “well, we’ve gone this far…” Very glad that she is talking about reality now.

The comments are crazy, but many of her viewers just seem ignorant of horses and their care, so not so surprising. And this is the internet!
