I’m curious, what’s the latest update? TikTok won’t let me view the video unless I download the app, which ain’t happening.
I have found if I try to open them on my phone it requires the app, but I can watch on a computer without a problem.
Or any living thing.
I have watched a number of these videos. I dont think she is after $$$ or “clicks”. She seems to be wealthy and posts a lot aside from this baby.
I think she got sucked into trying to save him. In some ways he improved, but it also became apparent that his leg issues aren’t going to easily resolve. I think she is doing “well, we have gone this far…” and the vets are still willing to offer hope for a comfortable pasture puff life. So I think she is not really seeing the reality of his life right now and apparently none of the vets have made her see it.
Your take is much closer to what the reality seems to be to me, too. The clinic the foal was at initially has a tendency to encourage this sort of never-ending money spending, in my experience. From the tone of her recent videos, it sounds like UT has provided a much more measured and comprehensive outlook on the situation.
I think she’s “damned” either way. If she puts him down, there’s going to be all sorts of backlash, mainly from ignorant people. Keeping him going isn’t the necessarily the right thing either though.
But are they equal? Judgment from internet strangers vs allowing a living animal to actively suffer?
They are absolutely not equal.
I’ve only seen 3-4 of her videos including her advertisement she does for sstack.com, could I be wrong, absolutely. But that foal is bringing in millions of dollars via social. Hard to not consider it.
I know she also posts on Facebook, if you use that. She’s probably put the updates there also.
Here’s the latest. You can see his custom orthotics towards the end. He’s got a big horse buddy but they’re talking about getting him a pal closer to his size
Maybe I am uninformed but I very much doubt she is getting millions from these videos.
She is a very wealthy person with a big online presence, but I don’t think she depends on views. It’s a terrible situation and it won’t be fun to euthanize that foal for anyone.
She’s considered a mega-influencer across multiple channels, my number isn’t far off including sponsorships.
Promise this foal has increased her numbers of followers.
There’s no way Seven’s videos/reels/tiktoks alone are generating millions of dollars plus sponsorships, or even an appreciable increase in audience size. He is in a fraction of her content and I guarantee the bulk of her followers are not seriously horsey so they’re just as interested in the mini cows and baby goats and whatnot.
People are clearly determined to dislike her though. Why anyone thinks that access to a few videos and still shots of Seven makes them a great judge of his quality of life, or more qualified than the vets treating him to determine whether he has a realistic path forward is beyond me.
Here’s the latest. He’s been at the university for a month. Looking pretty perky here. She takes a while at the beginning retelling his story
That one to me is just awful to watch; to see a horse struggle to get up a small incline even with all that hardware. And confirmation that he couldn’t get up and down on his own without the braces. So this poor foal has been basically trapped in his body his whole life, unable to follow any of the natural inclinations for a horse. I’m going to have to stop watching these; it was interesting but now it’s just really disturbing. Even if there’s a reasonable outcome it wasn’t worth what this foal has been through.
Couldn’t agree more. It really is on another level of abuse imo. That poor, poor foal.
Yep. Still disgusting.
And yet, people still share her videos and act like what she’s doing isn’t gross.
In other news, a friend of mine local to her shared that when she’s at the vet clinics doing these videos - she insists that no other clients or other horses be present when she’s filming. She’s garnering a reputation in our industry for acting pretty bratty and entitled behind the scenes.
I know I’ve been saying/heavily implying since the jump that this is not someone to support. I’m happy to see the tide turning as this fiasco goes on, and more people realizing what’s really going on here.
I defended her upthread, as she’s rich and an influencer and that seems to make people automatically assume she’s a spoiled brat. It’s a job like any other, and takes a certain personality and skill set that people don’t respect sometimes.
That said, I do think it’s gone too far. At a certain point, how many months of suffering does this little guy need to go through before he gets to live a somewhat normal life? How many years? What sort of QOL is he looking at, at this point?
He looked like he was fighting for a while there, but even now on her highly curated feed he looks… lifeless. Anyway. I think it is easy for vets and owners in this situation to lose sight of QOL, especially when the bank account is unlimited and the posting of the poor guy is garnering attention.
Foal has been fighting to survive like any other horse. Show no weakness or get eaten is built in programming for them. Tragic way to live.
I won’t watch the current videos, the ones where foal is “fighting” are bad enough. I can’t imagine emotionally how broken this foal is.
