Vests for high-waisted torsos

Every time I have tried to purchase a (non-protective) vest it has arrived and been both too big and too long. The vests hang like a paper bag down from my elbows and chest, and they bunch up in front of my crotch when I’m sitting in the saddle.

Does anyone know any brands that carry vests that are shorter and more form fitting? They don’t have to be horse specific brands. Bonus points if the bottom of the vest is in a sort of V shape (a la Waist Coat).

For reference, the body specs are: 39" Bust, 28" Waist, 40" Hip
I usually wear a size Small or Medium on top.

TYIA!

It sounds like you have a lovely hour-glass figure, which is something clothing manufacturers don’t seem to cater for any more. The only thing I can suggest is that you buy something that fits bust and hips, then find a decent seamstress to take it in at the waist.

An Equetech Piaffe Waistcoat may suit you length wise but will have a more boxy outline unless you take it in at the waist.

I have an old Mountain Horse vest that’s just what you’re looking for, except it’s a size small and you probably need a medium. There are quite a few on Poshmark. Take a look!

Why DON’ T riding clothing manufacturers make short vests? I hate a vest that interferes with the saddle pommel.

I have only a couple of good short vests left made by companies that no longer exist.

I know. It’s really stupid. I went as far as having the zipper in my heated vest replaced with a shorter one so at least the bottom of the vest can separate instead of bunch up.

@PunkJunker23 there are a few size mediums on ebay, too, including a gorgeous red!
