If the horse was given banamine at a multi-day show, then can’t OP simply look up the horse’s competition record? I can find results for my horses for years back at my local circuits in 30 seconds.
Sincere question - Does your look-up include all classes that your horse did or just the classes that your horse placed in?
Wow…talk about “victim shaming”…
The OP receives a bill 2 years after vet services are provided. Most “accounting best practices” would indicate that the bill is totally out of line.
Why are you guys doing a pile-on on OP?
A timely post… Last week I received a bill from a vet who does vaccination clinics at a barn I used to be at. I had never received a bill from this vet before as I would simply pay when the vaccination clinic was held. This bill was for services rendered over 2 years ago and included finances charges for the two years that the bill hadn’t been paid.
I was extremely flustered as I’ve NEVER had an unpaid vet bill. I’m no longer at that barn and haven’t been for about two years. I checked my diary and discovered that I had been out of the country at that time, which made me think that maybe I had in fact not paid (although why this was the first time I was hearing about it made no sense whatsoever…) So, I sent the vet office a message asking for clarification on the bill. I also asked why I was being assessed finance charges when this was the first time I had ever received a bill. I got a reply stating that the checks for that vaccination clinic, including mine (I had indeed paid!!), had been misplaced and were discovered too late to deposit. The vet has now (more than two years later) decided to send bills to get replacement checks.
That was the only explanation given. No mention whatsoever of the bogus finance charges. I replied that I would send a check for the initial charge but would not pay the finance charges. I requested a confirmation that my account would show a zero balance.
However, I wonder how many of the folks who received this bill simply paid it and never questioned the finance charges…
well they should have deposited the checks anyway and let the bank determine if they wish to pay the stale dated checks
When a bank is presented with a check written more than six months ago, it may refuse to process the check, but it’s unlikely to refuse unless an expiration date is specified on the check.

Good question. My last horse was Ch or Res at every show for the few years I showed him, so I’m not sure if I ever did not place in a class with him.

usually yes in a few ways as the shows were Class As so there was the reports to the breed association and if shown by our trainer the billing was itemized …then we had our personal records …and lastly the good old calendar where many things are marked which we kept… the farm was a C Corp so we had to maintain business records
