Vet recommendations for PPE in Chester Co, PA

I’m not from that area, so I’d like to hear recommendations for getting a horse vetted in that vicinity. Thanks!

Sports Medicine Associates - most vets have gone south but Dr.Gassert is around.

Dr. Peter Blauner does a lot of PPE’s as well.

I will second Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County. I had Dr. Ashley Taylor do my horse’s PPE, but I think any vets from that practice would be very competent.

Here’s some of the the options in this area:

Unionville Equine
Sports Medicine Associates
Dr. Celia Goodall (All bias aside, she is my vet but she’s brilliant and can pick up neuro cases on very minute things)
Forward Thinking Equine
Blauner & Associates
Dr. Hope Batchelor/ Pickering Equine
Dr. Cassie Mahoney
Chuck Arensberg, Bessemer Equine
Dr. Bernie Smith or Kathy Anderson Equine Vet Care
Dr. Mary Griffin

NBC (Where I work) is looking at 2 weeks plus to come to the hospital for a PPE/ depending on which clinician you want and what all you want done. It could be longer.

NBC Field Service is also at 2 - 3 weeks out also depending on which clinician and what needs to be done.

Soooo…there is one entry on Xctry’s list who I would not recommend to do a PPE on a Breyer Horse. Fortunately, Chester County is chock full of talented, honest vets. Potential Purchaser, do your due diligence.

FWIW, I listed off people who are well established in the area and have had positive feedback from their clients.

Obviously there’s the old adage “You can’t please all the people all the time” but the people on this list work hard and have many loyal and satisfied clients.

Unionville would get my vote 100%. I would not use Forward Thinking Equine.
