Veterinarian missing after kicking horse in the head

This is accurate. I saw firsthand a complete fail by a vet, it was clear cut failure. Owner took it to the state board and they did not agree. My boss at the time, the vet who cleaned up the disaster, was gobsmocked.

Yes. I lost one of my favorite dogs because a vet simply couldn’t be bothered to do anything for her. Karma got him several years later, though, in the form of a very angry bull.

My husband and I had a similar experience. A vet put off emergency surgery for our dog because of the staff Christmas party. Our beautiful dog became septic and died. They sent flowers. :rage:

[Edit]

The distance that is inherent between watching a video online of someone being horribly abusive to a horse, and the complete disconnect from human kindness by the watchers (people who themselves are complaining about a lack of humanity,) wishing someone dead for abusing a horse is horrendous.

To be clear, I don’t wish him dead. But I also don’t give a single :poop: if he is or not.

Some of the replies here…yikes.

I think it is absolutely disgusting to wish death on any human being. Period.

I think to say that some are or were “wishing him dead” is a bit of stretch. I know I never thought that for one second. I was however, hoping he was going to get what he had coming in the legal and veterinary system. That said, if he is dead, by his own hand or otherwise, I’m sure not losing any sleep or tears over it. It’s no loss to society for sure.

edited to clarify: I am referring to this board and it’s posters. I, too, have seen the online stuff with the usual ranting and raving and vitriol. Unfortunately there is a lot of crazy in this world and crazy be as crazy do.

There was a dirty vet nearby that we never used. This was when we lived in Florida (a source of many of my horror stories, ie seems). This vet’s family owned a local ranch that was a destination for school aged children as well as families. They also boarded horses. One boarder left after a terrible run-in with the vet. By law, dead horses were supposed to be buried a specific distance down, unless the water table was too high, in which case the dead livestock had to be hauled away. This vet did neither. She dragged euthanized horses to a pile and enjoyed watching wild animals stagger and die after eating the contaminated corpses. She laughed and took pictures. The boarder reported how racist both the vet and her husband were, as evidenced by FB posts freely using the “n” word and disparaging Blacks. The grandparents were reportedly good people, but their kids all grew up and became piles of defecation. The incident with the dead horses was reported to the state vet office.

Oh I don’t know about that. I think some people commit such heinous acts that they’re better off in the ground. Dahmer, Gacy, etc.

Abusing a horse as the vet did is not on that list. If someone skinned a horse alive, maybe.

I exclude pedos from this :woman_shrugging:t4:

Article that randomly showed up on my Facebook Newsfeed on this topic.

This is sad.
That woman had no business owning a barely handled, aggressive, stud colt. The vet did the best he could in a crap situation to keep himself safe.
I’m not condoning abuse and I realize he didn’t have the best track record.
But because of these situations people wonder why they can’t find a vet, or why vets won’t take new clients.
The colt is still alive and no worse for wear but guess who isn’t?

He could have refused from the get go. I remember a horse that was very difficult to handle. The farrier watched it for a few minutes and then said Nope.

You proved my point. People wonder why vets refuse service. Especially when the owners have no business having the horses they own, don’t know how to handle themselves or refuse to and don’t have the right facilities. This was a vet willing to take it on and was crucified for protecting himself while trying to help the horse. Most people are not familiar with dealing with feral horses, let alone how they may react under sedation.
