. . . on American Pharoah. Baffert says he got greedy.
oy ve, interesting article. But I could see this coming from a mile away the minute the horse won the Preakness. Victor changed and it was obvious he was cashing in on everything he could stuff in his pockets. Do I blame him, no, but he did let it get to his head. They all need to remember that AP is nothing without all three of them.
I could see victor needing his head screwed on straight by Bob. I think Bob was the one trying to mediate both of them in the hoopla of all of it. It was an exciting time but clear as day how much money plays a role in how people act and treat eachother what they should’ve been having the time of their lives
Great article. Nine horses in foal to American Pharoah and nine fillies? OMG!
This is even better than the Ramsey story a few months ago on the same site where he spazzed out on some of the best trainers in the world.

I disagree with this, they are nothing without American Pharaoh. That horse is outstanding.
I’ve never cared for Espinoza, who I think is whip heavy and arrogant. But that is simply mho.
I knew there was something amiss when Victor started saying to the media CC was better than AP.
First of all, one cannot compare a three-year-old and a five-year-old. We can only compare them at three, and AP was far superior.
Secondly, regardless of what he thinks, he should never say that to the media. It is tacky.
As an aside, I find it interesting that these folks commenting on the article page are quick to commend CC’s team for continuing to race him and condemn the Zayats for being greedy for retiring AP. Let’s face it, if CC had a better pedigree or had won the TC, he would have been retired by now. $$$
The luckiest jockey in history.
