Definitely take a look at it. I loved loved loved IHSA in college.

Also, take a look at what I added to my previous post, you might like a few of those ideas.[/QUOTE]

Thanks for the ideas  When I get closer to the point where I’m actually applying to some colleges in a couple months (EEK!!) I may have to shoot you some PMs! My parents are realllllly pushing me to go to BYU because it’s their alma mater, and I do like it…but I’m just not sure…I wouldn’t be able to be involved with horses at all there unless I somehow found a barn to work at!

Hey jumpingstarr, feel free to PM me about IHSA as well. I did it while I was in college and I had an absolute blast - as soon as I have the time and money, I’m planning on doing the alumni classes. It is so much fun. I showed in open flat and fences, but part of what made the team so fun was that our walk/trot riders were just as important as the open riders, and everyone rooted for everyone else. It was a great experience.

Yes! It is a big team atmosphere! We sent our walk/trot rider to Nationals my Sophomore year and we put her through boot camp almost as hard as it would have been for an Open rider! The support system you gain from IHSA is unlike anything else I’ve ever encountered.

Sounds awesome, and I would love riding a lot of different horses like they do for IHSA. I know it would make me a better rider 1000x over! I’ll definitely make it one of the top priorities in my school choice
