Video of rider schooling through huge bucks and antics

It looked like it was in Europe, male rider. Help! I know I’ve seen it posted on here.

This one? It’s a classic!

I remember this one!! Egads I wish I stuck like that!

I seem to recall there was a similar “sit the bucks” video filmed in an indoor arena, with the horse just going off in all directions, but I couldn’t find it on a quick search…

You mean this old classic?

Oh that’s great! I hadn’t seen that one before!

I know there’s a video of a German (?) dressage rider at some sort of young horse presentation who rides through a tricky patch. Can’t remember the horse or rider though. Video is notable for the rider’s tact. Does somebody remember that one?

this one of Anky getting bucked off?

Most likely herman koorman. Videos of his riding have been subject to coth scrutiny before. Here’s my response from a few years ago

I hope it was bumped up so people who don’t know any better could insult rider Herman Koorman who is obscenely good, and well-regarded, not just for his superb seat, but also his great patience in dealing with young and problem horses. He starts horses for the VDL stud, Wiemselbach, HBC and Eurocommerce.

It was merely a demonstration. Best sometimes to reserve comment if you aren’t entirely clear what is going on.

Although, of course, you are also welcome to comment away about his lack of qualifications.[/QUOTE]

Also he’s a nice guy.

Gert van den Hof is another. He gives clinics breaking horses in a sort of bronc them out, type idea combined with the longe whip cracking assistant. some of his videos are worse than others.

here is one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W25mXibSZG0

Gert seems to enjoy the wild ride…

Those first few clips were pretty amazing.

I think you are thinking of the one with Hans Pieter (can’t spell the last name) who rides with Edward Gal. I think he was on a young horse that was spooking at the judge and wouldn’t go near one end of the ring. Maybe somebody who is better at googling than me can find the clip. He can really ride.

That’s a really nice horse when it isn’t being a complete and utter pill!

Bad video of the 2012 olympic one

There’s a better view of it out there somewhere…

I think David Marcus is a really fine horseman and a good sport, too.

I think I used to own that horses brother! He was such a jackass. Once, he was 8 or 9 and quite well trained he started spooking and kangarooing around on a hack and I dropped the reins because I am graceful and he launched into that same routine only with complete head and neck freedom. I stayed on for an entire 10 acre field then he dumped me in a wet muddy hole in the ground, kept bucking till he bucked the stirrup leathers off the saddle and then trotted around in circles, afraid to actually run off on his lonely ownsome in a world full of cows but also afraid to come back. Smart, because my plan was to catch him and kill him.

I foxhunted that horse a whole season. I have no idea why.

snowrider:  @ the catch and kill idea.
