I’m not really trying to justify anything that’s gone on here (actually kinda bewildered myself with this thread… us trail folk usually aren’t this in-your-face!), but perhaps this is all kind of ‘retaliation’ from all the nasty stuff this guy would post about others and such? I think he’s not very popular around here right now, and this was a golden opprotunity to run 'im outta town, so to speak. :lol:
Not really my style personally, but just trying to rationalize the flamefest going on at the moment. Didn’t know you folks had it in you. :o
It’s not so much a flamefest as it was some guy posting a video of an unbroken baby with a yahoo cowboy on his back, rearing and nearly falling down and being very clearly terrified and endangering everyone around him, and then the rider saying this is how you break a horse. And its about all the posts about jabbing with spurs and knocking a horse down a few notches with a big bit, and running them through fences and the horse falling down 6 times a year during normal riding and making them panic in the deep water to teach them how to swim, and going down on the ice because you have to get your daily 10 mile run in even though your trails are covered in glare ice…etc. After a while it’s just rip 'em up cowboy overload.
I feel bad because I always thought Norval was a really nice guy and I enjoyed reading his posts but they’ve gotten weirder and weirder. Lance was certainly a beautiful animal and Norval can be extremely proud of his accomplishments with him. To whoever said something about why Norval has to “prove” anything to anybody - I think he feels this way because at horseshoes.com the guys are adamant about proving who you are and credentials and all that as a stipulation to posting. Norval’s a farrier and posts there too. I can understand Norval’s reasoning.

Here I am, drugged, with Laryngitis and an ice pack on my elbow. I was ignoring this thread, because he’s just so tedious and I don’t care if he gets poked at. I do, however, get annoyed when a good thread gets derailed by sniping – but this was his thread, so whatever.
I do hope, A2, that you really have put him on your ignore list. Without you to rile up, he just might get bored and slink back to wherever he came from. But I doubt it. Trolls troll. It’s their nature. :rolleyes:
