Well, I am back, 3000 km later in 11 days!!!
For 2Dogs!!! Villa Louis was lovely. The grounds were lovely, beautiful trees, turnouts etc. We actually ended up camping on the show grounds, so was close to all the action. Did not see any of the events on Friday, but did get a tour of the mansion. Saturday was a lovely day, so watched Turnout class, reinsmanship etc. There was one pony that was bred from the farm I use to drive out of that was doing quite well. Watch some of the Gamblers choice and cross country, but that was mostly spread out over the other side of the road, so only saw a couple of obstacles up close. Sunday started out not bad, but was cloudy and the rain moved in about noon, so about 3, we were getting cold, so left, but only missed about 4 classes at the end of the day. The show does 5 classes for 13 divisions over 2 days, and some additional ones, so very busy all day. Sorry, no pics. There were no 4-in-hands, multiples were 2 tandem and one unicorn hitch. The VSE division had 13 entries. I was speaking to a lady who comes every year to watch and thought the entries were down.
I enjoyed going, but it is a long haul from Ontario. We took the high speed ferry across Lake Michigan, and after VL wandered around Wisconsin and Michigan Went to Mackinac Island, then on to visit our friends. She had competed last year at VL with either a VSE or small pony and single horse. She felt it was very busy compared to Walnut Hill which ran one class at a time, but it was over 5 days and fewer classed per division, but she did enjoy showing at VL.
@2Dogs, enjoy the ND and hope you get to VL next year!!!
