Violent reaction with farrier

Mine fell in the hospital and now has difficulty w his left front when being shod. I am fortunate to have an incredibly talented and kind farrier shoe him. The veterinary supposition is he injured his knee and cannot bend it backwards. They cannot identify on radiographs why it won’t bend. I disagree and believe his injured his shoulder somehow that doesn’t allow the scapula to rotate to allow him to bend backward. I am very empathetic w your frustration. I’ve wondered if he injured the point of his shoulder (sweeny, anyone?) but can’t get traction to radiograph or ultrasound it. I used a bemer blanket daily and got nuthin’. I found a fabulous body worker w a class IV laser. It’s helped tremendously. I bought him red light pads to use daily and they have also helped tremendously. My vets are fascinated by his progress. I hope this is helpful somehow.

If this were my horse I would not be happy with how those feet look in those photos. IME neurological horses become very compromised by unbalanced trims. You have described several textbook symptoms of c-spine issues, I’m surprised vets would find this a headscratcher.
