Visitor Planning Guide from Lexington

Just wanted to say, if you haven’t requested the free visitor planning guide at www.visitlex.com, it has a world of info in it, including two wonderful maps. One is the city of Lexington itself with attractions marked, the other is a county map with a special designation for Thoroughbred farms and well over a dozen of those marked on it. Lots of info on attractions, restaurants, other things, etc. And a horse on the cover.

Well worth the free and prompt shipping! I’ll certainly take mine along to Kentucky with me, as the maps will be quite helpful.

Your Hotel May Have Them

Between Sept. 24 and Oct. 10 there will be “Certified Tourism Ambassadors” at 13 of the larger hotels and Bluegrass Airport. They will work from 8 AM to Noon and 4-8 PM. They will have handouts and also a laptop to assist travelers.

These Ambassadors are certified by the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau (the “visitlex.com” folks).

They sent one all the way to Argentina!

We asked for one and it came in the mail about a month ago. We really needed one since we are flying half way across the globe and have no idea what to do in Lex… I guess there will be many tourists in our situation and this guide really helped me organize what to do other than see the games.
Great maps and advice on restaurants, walking tours, nearby towns to visit, websites…everything!
Highly recommend it.
