Vit E supplement DRY or PELLETS

Does a “dry” Vit E supplement exist?

Sure. Nearly all of them are dry. There are only a few water soluble brands that are all liquid.

Santa Cruz is a great price point.

Thanks. Maybe my Google skills need a reboot. lol.

I use the Santa Cruz natural E powder and it works because I test. :grinning:

I use the Santa Cruz pellets.

I was told by my vet to give my mare Purina Supersport for Vit E deficiency. From my understanding, this recommendation came from a specialist who is known world wide for treating muscle disorders (and whom I am awaiting results from a muscle biopsy.)

Compare the amount of vitamin e between your product and Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is super concentrated compared to what you’re using.

This is 500 iu vit e per pound. 8 oz/day = 250 iu.

Vit e supplementation generally begins at 1-2 iu per pound of horse, so 1000-2000 iu per 1000 pound horse, and goes to 10k iu per day for specific medical reasons.

There’s so little vit e in Super Sport to be negligible. Which isn’t surprising–it’s an amino acid supplement, not a vitamin e supplement.

I’d also be curious if it’s natural (d-alpha-tocopheryl) or synthetic (dl-alpha.) Synthetic is less absorbable, so if that’s what they’re using, you’re really getting even less.

It is not suitable to treat vitamin e deficiency, though.
