Voltaire: What’s the difference between a 1 flap and a 1A?

Short legged person here, about to buy a Palm Beach with a “1” flap. I know the 1A works, but I’ve been unable to find the difference between that and a 1?

1 is the flap length, the “A” designation signifies how forward the flap is. An AA or AAA would be more forward for longer legs, an A is going to be straighter.
