I am looking into getting a new saddle, and am deciding between the McCall Lady Wade or the McLite Wade. Does anyone have any experience or info on the McLite? I have ridden in the Lady Wade and enjoyed it quite a bit, I’m wondering if the McLite is similar? I am not planning on doing any heavy duty roping or anything like that, just trail riding and dabbling in some western dressage and natural horsemanship. Thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated!!
No idea, but Patty at RNR Tack sells them. You could contact her and ask.
Let us know if you find out more. I was looking at those, but then an almost new Martin Wade came up on consignment at Broken Horn, so I took it, while I look around for a Wade that might not be as heavy. I liked Frecker’s Buck Brannaman Lite, too.
I tried one of these before I bought my saddle. Mary’s Tack and Feed has a generous trial policy. That said, it only comes in 1 tree with which is not very wide. It’s also a synthetic tree I believe which is why it is so light. What I did was to actually call McCall myself and talk to 1 of the guys there and pick their brain about saddles. I did not end up with a McCall as my horses build is a bit different. I ended up buying a Dan Mayer saddle that is a 3 1/2 hand hole and a 96゚ bar. The guys at McCall are very very helpful. There is also a woman Brianne Stromberg who is a McCall dealer. She rides the saddles and actually works cattle on them with her Norwegian Fjords. She is also a wealth of knowledge. Good luck
