Wait, really?

If we hadn’t invented the Knee block, thigh block, Padded flap , jointed stirrups , lock on stirrups, magnetic stirrups, riser pads ect… would we really need this too? Really?? For $500.00 I will give the secret to a balanced ride , Ok for free ride bareback for a while! Afte rall the re tooling of the saddle have we done anything other then to create sore horse backs and weak riders? and no wthis to the correct the problem OYE!

Ditto that, MikesMCS. Particulary true here with Butets – got my OTTB for a steal because his previous owner rode him in a pinching one, resulting in a “bucking problem.” No Butet, no buck. Funny that.

Hah but it comes in a deep and or flat seat. It looks like they took parts from older butets, cut them up, and voila you have the “practice saddle”. Maybe they should be giving these away as prizes for the medal winners or something??? Oh horse industry just when I think things are trying to be a little “normal” you go and bring this out on the market and proving to me that you are still a crazy cat hoarding ol lady!

I just watched the video. Anyone else think that the rider’s leg didn’t look so hot? I didn’t see any depth in the heel and even saw some looseness in the lower leg. For the marketing of a $3000 saddle that is completely useless in the show ring I would expect perfection in the rider marketing it

They should have gotten George Morris!

ETA: I went on the Bevals facebook page and it doesn’t seem to be getting that great a response (shocker!) Top comment? “At a loss for words. Just drop your irons…its cheaper:)”

Yes, and with this latest invention you can experience the joy of the terrible tree for the horse WITHOUT any of the amenities of the rest of the saddle!

All pain no gain!

Yippee!

PS can someone link to this video? Am I blind?

video is on the facebook link under Beval Saddles…

I think the concept may be - the flap is actually the girth it gives you more leg contact? You wouldn’t have two pieces of leather under your leg… and no knee rolls.

I still don’t get how it would help your riding any better than riding with a good trainer (a lot) in a “well made” saddle.

I didn’t think the video was helpful because the rider at the canter did that up and down with her bum that has become something goofy to me… her leg was very straight… the saddle looks used - just seems so odd to me.

But whatever…

At first I thought – what a great April Fool’s joke! But then I realized we’re a long way away from April.

Huh? It’s missing… most of it! For $3000, I want the whole saddle!
Is it just me or does (what is left of) the flap look used???
Looks used to me as well!!!

The comments on the facebook page are pretty funny!

The saddle looks like a used one that’s been cut up. Just take off your flipping stirrups or find a flat saddle!

FWIW, I do know some people who have ridden in that saddle and all of them have RAVED about it. I’m not one of them and probably won’t be, but I’ve heard good things about it from those who have used it.

Can your friends tell us how it’s different from a pared down “old skool” flat saddle? Or is that pretty much what it is in person? What do you get from it that you wouldn’t get from cannibalizing an old prix de nations or something like that?

This is about as bad as “The Emperor’s new clothes”

Unfortunately, no one I know who has ridden in it is from the flat saddle era… :frowning:

Ouch. Make the rest of us feel really old, why don’t you??

I’m with the “save the $3K and ride bareback once in a while” group.

video link?

Where is the link for the video:confused:?

nevermind, I found it!

I found the link!

YOU GOT IT1

YOU GOT IT:lol:1
What’s the difference between that thing and taking the stirrups off of my current saddle?! Am I missing something?
same here.also thinking then it would require me to do 2 saddle changes everytime i wanted to ride. frankly i am kinda turned off.even if i had the 3k to buy it.
