I want to, but after reading the eligibility requirements, I don’t think I can…
For those not in the UK, it would require several flights to the UK (interview, specific training, venue training, games all occurring in different months). A work visa or otherwise being able to legally work in the UK is required to volunteer (which I think is an interesting requirement). The minimum days a person can volunteer is 10.
The work visa requirements only affect us, the Russians and the Chinese and the Turks and some other Middle Eastern countries. Many of the Commonwealth people and all of the EU people are covered.
Ancestral visas – if you have a UK-born grandparent and you are a citizen of a Commonwealth country, then this visa can allow you to work in the UK and later to obtain settlement.
Maybe we should have stayed a British colony?
