Most alfalfa in the Charlotte area is brought in from other parts of the country since it just does not grow well here. Craigslist has a recent posting for a supplier that has some in Concord for $7/bale, and another out of Marshville for $10.25/bale.
Deal Rite Feed in Statesville always has good alfalfa available. I usually get it in 1200lb squares.
